Prince Philip Cup 2027
NSW State Championships 2027
Ted Albert Memorial Cup
10-19 February, Lake Macquarie, NSW

All interested Dragon sailors are invited to join us on Lake Macquarie for the combined NSW State Championships, Ted Albert Memorial and Prince Philip Cup Regattas to be sailed out of the Lake Macquarie Yacht Club from 10–19 February 2027.
Location & Venue
Lake Macquarie is located approximately 140 km north of Sydney (2 hours north of Sydney CBD) and offers year-round fantastic lake sailing conditions. Breezes are generally E/NE at 10–15 knots and Daylight Saving will still be in place, giving longer afternoon sailing opportunities.
Our chosen venue to host the regatta is Lake Macquarie Yacht Club (LMYC), which has a great tradition in yacht racing and offers excellent marina and club facilities. For more information on the venue, visit the LMYC Website.
Lake Macquarie offers ample room to set courses right in front of LMYC, alongside mooring adjacent to the clubhouse for all Dragon competitors, ample trailer parking, and crane facilities.
The combined regattas are scheduled after the 2026 Christmas / 2027 New Year School Holidays have ended to maximize accommodation choices in what is a popular holiday destination. Proximity to Newcastle, beaches, and the Hunter Valley vineyards ensures plenty of options for non-sailors.
Timing & Complimentary Entry
IDANSW has rescheduled the 2026 NSW State Championships from November 2026 to run just prior to the Ted Albert Memorial and Prince Philip Cup regattas in February 2027.
Bonus Entry: All Dragons entered into the Ted Albert Memorial and Prince Philip Cup regatta will receive complimentary entry to the 2026 NSW State Championship regatta.
